About our school
The school is situated in the beautiful, rural setting of Samford Valley, and yet is still located in close proximity to Brisbane CBD; a vibrant, multicultural, cosmopolitan city. The beautiful sandy beaches of the Sunshine Coast are only one and a half hours to the north and the beaches of the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales are one to two hours to the south. The school is situated on 20 acres of forested land along Samford Creek.
The school is 36 years old and is a strong and dynamic educational facility providing an authentic Steiner Education to students from Pre-Prep through to Class 12 with double streams in 2025 in Classes 1 to 8. Student numbers are over 570 and growing, with a staff strength of over 100. Our curriculum is based on the Australian Steiner School Curriculum Framework and is uncompromised right to the end of High School; including senior classes completing the NZ Steiner School Certificate (an internationally recognised secondary qualification). We have a vibrant staff combining youth and experience and a stable organisational structure. The College of Teachers sits at the heart of the structure and advises a Senior Leadership Team, comprising of representatives of the different areas of the school, and a School Director who is accountable to a governance Board.

The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and professional Administrative Officer (Primary & Executive Support) to join our team in a full-time, ongoing capacity.
This role provides high-quality administrative support to the Primary School Faculty Director while also contributing to governance support, executive administration, project work, and whole-school operations. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys a diverse workload, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional administrative support.
In this role, you will:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Primary School Faculty Director, including diary management, meeting coordination, correspondence, and document preparation
- Support timetabling processes, including duty rosters, timetable updates, and coordination of timetable changes for Education Assistants
- Prepare agendas, collate meeting papers, take accurate minutes, and assist with action tracking for Board and leadership meetings
- Support Board governance administration, including maintaining records and coordinating governance documentation
- Assist Executive Leadership with project-based work, reporting, compliance activities, and operational initiatives
- Contribute to school-wide administration, events, and administrative projects as required
- Prepare and format professional reports, presentations, correspondence, and other documentation
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement when handling sensitive information
- Provide occasional support to reception and front-office operations when required
What You Bring
- Experience in an administrative, executive support, governance, or office coordination role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively
- Professional judgement, discretion, and a high level of confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the school community
- Interest in or openness to Steiner education
- A current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)

We are seeking a dedicated and creative High School Math/Physics Teacher to commence in Term 2, 2026. In this part-time role, you will:
- Deliver engaging Math and Physics lessons, including Main Lessons and skills-based classes in small engines and mathematics.
- Foster analytical thinking, creativity, and student confidence in numeracy and scientific understanding
- Integrate mathematical and scientific content with artistic and experiential learning approaches
- Create a respectful, inclusive classroom environment focused on student wellbeing
- Participate in faculty meetings and collaborate across disciplines
- Provide timely assessments and feedback aligned with NZCSE standards
- Contribute to the wider school community and seasonal celebrations
What You Bring
- Teaching qualifications recognised by the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) with current or pending registration

Casual Outdoor Educator

The Samford Valley Steiner School (SVSS) Outdoor Education program is growing and is currently seeking Casual Outdoor Educators to support our existing Outdoor Education team on a casual basis now and into the future.

The Role
As a Casual Outdoor Educator, you will:
- Assist and lead outdoor programs supporting current school teaching staff.
- Lead activities such as hiking, bike riding, canoeing, sailing, swimming, nature connection, journaling and initiatives games.
- Collaborate with a supportive teaching and Outdoor Education team to uphold our values and style of program. Be flexible, adaptable, and proactive in managing a variety of learning environments.
What We’re Looking For
- Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration or current Blue Card.
- Wilderness or Remote Area First Aid.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation or University degree in Outdoor Education.
Additional qualifications and experience in the following would be favourable but not essential:
- Canoe Guide (Flat water)
- LR or MR Driver’s License
- Experience guiding groups bike riding
- Experience and/ or qualifications in Sailing
- Bronze Medalion Certificate
